Bought it on Black Friday. How long can it go back?
Exactly as long as always. Bought online? Then you have 14 days to change your mind, starting the day your parcel arrives. A discount doesn't change that. Many shops even give you longer.
How it works
Black Friday is just buying online, with a discount. Your rights stay the same. You have 14 days to change your mind, and the clock starts when your parcel arrives. After that you have another 14 days to actually send it back.
Many shops give you more time themselves, for example 30 days. That differs per shop. Check the return periods per shop.
Not everything can go back. Something made especially for you, or sealed personal care you’ve opened, doesn’t count. Discount or not.
The tricky part
On Black Friday you don’t order one thing. You order five, from different shops. Each parcel arrives on a different day. So each parcel has a different last return day. Almost nobody keeps track of that.
On Friday you order five things from four shops. They arrive on four different days. One coat is just a bit too small. You think: I'll send it back later. And then it's day 17.
Often asked
Does the cooling-off period start at the order or at delivery?
At delivery. The clock starts when your parcel arrives, not on Black Friday itself.
Is that Black Friday discount real?
Not always. The 'was' price has to be the lowest price of the past 30 days. If the old price was raised first, the discount is misleading.
I bought a gift. Who sends it back?
You do, because you're the buyer. The return goes through your account with the shop.
