Karwei warranty
Karwei uses the manufacturer’s warranty period (shown on the packaging), on top of your legal warranty, which has no fixed period. Within 30 days you report a defect to customer service or in the store. After that you go to a Karwei DIY store, even if you bought online.

How long is the warranty?
- Manufacturer’s warranty: the manufacturer’s period. It differs per brand and is on the packaging.
- Legal warranty: no fixed period. With normal use the item has to keep working as you can expect.
- The first 30 days are the inspection period.
How to claim warranty
- Within 30 days, bought online: contact customer service straight away. Bought in the store: go to the DIY store with your receipt.
- Within 30 days you usually get a new or similar product of the same value right away. Only if it can’t be replaced do you get your money back, with a few exceptions.
- After 30 days: go to a Karwei DIY store with your invoice or receipt, even for a web shop purchase. Karwei then arranges a repair. If that isn’t possible, Karwei works out another solution with you.
- Can’t you bring the product, or has it already been installed? Then contact customer service.
Karwei’s website and customer service are in Dutch. Where a menu or button is named, the English meaning is in brackets.
What do you need?
- Your receipt (store) or invoice (online).
- You can request a copy of your receipt up to 15 months back at the DIY store where you bought it. Your online invoice is in the order confirmation email or in your Karwei account.

Your legal rights (Dutch law)
- In the Netherlands there is no fixed legal warranty period. How long a product has to last depends on the type of product, the price and what the seller promised.
- Within 12 months of purchase, the seller has to prove that a problem was caused by you. After that, you have to show that the product is at fault.
- If something is defective, the seller has to come up with a solution: free repair, a new product or your money back. Normal wear and tear and damage you caused yourself are not covered.
