Praxis warranty

In short

Praxis gives a warranty on Maxeda DIY’s own brands (such as Baseline, Central Park, Sencys, Perfection and Decomode), but only if a warranty was explicitly given on the product. The period is on the packaging. Your legal rights always still apply. Bring your receipt.

How long is the warranty?

  • The warranty period starts on the date you bought it in the store and differs per product or part. You’ll find it on the packaging.
  • Batteries have a 1-year warranty.
  • If a product is replaced, the warranty starts again from the purchase of the replacement product.
  • The manufacturer’s warranty doesn’t take anything away from your legal warranty, which applies to all items.

How to claim warranty

  1. Report the defect within a reasonable time after discovering it, and in any case before the warranty period ends.
  2. Submit your claim to the consumer service desk of the Maxeda company where you bought it (the addresses are on maxeda.com). You can also contact the store.
  3. Bring the product, or the defective part.

What isn’t covered?

  • Damage from incorrect maintenance, or from external causes such as fire, water, moisture, ice, dropping, neglect or incorrect use.
  • Consumables and replaceable parts, such as batteries.

Good to know

  • The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects with normal use, if you followed the installation and maintenance instructions.
  • Bought from an external sales partner on Praxis.nl? Then contact that partner.
  • The warranty only applies in the country of purchase. Costs for a claim aren’t mentioned in the terms.

Your legal rights (Dutch law)

  • In the Netherlands there is no fixed legal warranty period. How long a product has to last depends on the type of product, the price and what the seller promised.
  • Within 12 months of purchase, the seller has to prove that a problem was caused by you. After that, you have to show that the product is at fault.
  • If something is defective, the seller has to come up with a solution: free repair, a new product or your money back. Normal wear and tear and damage you caused yourself are not covered.
